Canson is a French paper manufacturer- with over 450 years of experience in creating paper and over 150 years being specifically being involved in the production of photographic papers… they in fact helped early pioneers like Gustave Le Gray and Blanquart-Evrard!
In 2008 they launched their inkjet giclée printing range of papers called Digital Fine Art & Photo range… This has been expanded on since.
In this section of papers Hatter Editions offers Canson’s Baryta range of photographic papers.
All are OBA free or have extremely low counts, are made to exacting standards and meet archival criteria. The paper is typically of a brighter white base, which is interesting in that the papers have a low or no OBA count. This is due to a special process involving certain minerals. The bright white point lends its self to a higher colour gamut and a wider contrast range.
In this range we offer three papers; a glossy, a satin and a matt. These do what they say. Bright white, smooth with an almost subtle texture and have a high class look and finish, similar to the traditional darkroom enlarging papers... Think Ilford FB MG Classic, Bergger Prestige Variable or Adox Multi Contrast Classic.
